Our Christian Vision
Our school is a nurturing garden, with Jesus as the strong, life-giving vine, and God as the meticulous gardener who cares for every branch. We, the students, teachers, staff and families are akin to the branches growing from this vine. By remaining connected to Jesus, we receive the nourishment and support necessary to thrive and produce good fruits in our lives. Thus, at our school, we are dedicated to cultivating a nurturing environment where every student can grow and flourish. Our guiding principle is ‘Holding hands, striding forwards, flourishing together’ where we support each other, grow every day and thrive as a community.
‘Growing and Flourishing Together’
We believe our children’s future is created every day. Every moment counts.
Our vision is to provide a happy, loving and nurturing environment where all have the confidence to fulfil their hopes and aspirations. Our inspiring, enriched curriculum promotes a thirst for knowledge and develops wisdom.
The Lord says, ‘For I know the plans I have for you …. plans to give you hope and a future.’ Jeremiah 29 verse 11
Our Christian values
The school’s Christian values underpin our Christian vision and give pupils confidence to listen, question, explore and challenge themselves in pursuit of their learning.
Friendship ‘Love is more important than anything else, it’s what ties everything together’ Colossians 3:14
Honesty ‘Whoever walks in integrity walks securely’ Proverbs 11:3
Respect “And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.” Luke 6:31
Responsibility ‘Live in harmony with one another.’ Romans 12:16
Our curriculum intent is intrinsically linked to our vision statement;
Our pupils will consider how our past has shaped our future; exploring the pioneers who dedicated their lives to uncovering scientific truths, the leaders who fought to bring justice and peace, and the artists and poets who inspired generations to come. This will in turn inspire our pupils to understand how they themselves can contribute to society in the future and add cultural capital to our communities.
Through exploring our impact on the world around us our pupils will understand how they have the power to shape the future of our planet. Our School’s unique history and that of the local area will form the foundations of our curriculum, building on the history and geography of the school building, the local area and utilising local links.
