Julie Cardrick – South Hams Hub Local Governance Committee

Julie is married with two children and has lived in the Kingsbridge area for 10 years.  She joined the governing body at Thurlestone school as a Foundation Governor in 2009 moving onto the joint Governing body when Thurlestone federated with Charleton and West Alvington in 2012.She has also chaired the PTFA at Kingsbridge Community College and is still an active member.

Julie spent most of her working life in sales and marketing and was Key Accounts Manager for Vans shoes for many years. She currently assists her husband in running his business consultancy on a part time basis.

Her experience includes eight years of governor service encompassing all aspects of school governance along with management, customer service, marketing and organisational skills in business.

Julie is currently co-chair of the local Governance Committee for the South Hams Hub within the Learning Academy Partnership. She is the named governor with responsibility for SEN and also has additional responsibility for monitoring and supporting the schools to maintain and develop their Christian Distinctiveness as Church academies.
